Beach Pond, Voluntown/Rhode Island

Beach Pond (372 acres) is a natural lake that straddles the border of Connecticut and Rhode Island. A causeway separates a shallow cove on the eastern section from the main lake body. Fed by three small streams, the lake drains west over a dam to create the headwaters of the Pachaug River.

REGULATIONS

WALLEYE LAKE
Open 6:00 a.m. 2nd Saturday April–last day February
Connecticut or Rhode Island fishing license legal on entire pond. Rhode Island regulations apply for bass and pickerel.
Largemouth & smallmouth bass: Daily creel limit—5 bass, 12″ minimum length.
Chain Pickerel: Daily creel limit—5, 14″ minimum length.
Broodstock Atlantic salmon have been stocked several times into this lake, first in 2007 and most recently in April 2009. Regulations for salmon are the same as for trout except: Daily creel limit—1 Atlantic salmon.
All Other Species: CT Statewide regulations apply.
No more than six tip-ups may be used when ice-fishing.
