Welcome to The Fishing CT, which covers thefishingct.com and The Fishing CT app and is run by Fishing Northeast LLC (“we”, “us”). By using the site or app you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
Our goal, and your help
We work hard to make The Fishing CT as accurate and reliable as possible, and we do it together with our users. Lakes close, launches change, shops move and rules get updated. If you spot something wrong or out of date, use “Report a problem” on any lake, river, saltwater or business listing. That’s the fastest way to get a correction made, and we welcome every one.
Information is provided “as is”
- All information on The Fishing CT is provided to the best of our knowledge. This includes listings, depth maps, directions, weather, regulations summaries, state records and business details. It is provided for general information only, “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
- Always check current rules with CT DEEP before you fish. Regulations, seasons, closures and limits change, and the official sources are what count.
- Depth maps are for general reference. They are not for navigation and may not reflect current water levels or hazards.
- Driving directions and weather come from third-party services and may be incomplete or wrong. Use your own judgment on the road and on the water.
News and third-party content
Our news page automatically shows headlines and short teasers from other publishers, always credited and linked to the original article. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or opinions of articles written by others. They belong to their publishers. If you see a problem with a story we link to, let us know and we can remove the link. The same applies to business information supplied by owners, and to links to other websites.
Your safety
Fishing, boating and ice fishing carry real risks. You are responsible for your own safety, equipment, licenses and permits, and for following all laws and posted rules. Never rely on The Fishing CT for ice thickness, water conditions or safety decisions.
Your account
- Keep your login details private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information. You can update or delete your account at any time from My Account.
- We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service.
Paid plans
- Angler Pro and Merchant are monthly subscriptions billed through PayPal at the price shown when you sign up. They renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from My Account → Membership & billing or from your PayPal account. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- We may change features or prices. Price changes apply from your next billing period, and we’ll give notice first.
Things you post or send
When you submit reports, photos, corrections, business details or other content, you confirm you have the right to share it. You also give us permission to use it to run and improve The Fishing CT, for example by updating a listing. Please don’t post anything false, unlawful, abusive or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may edit or remove content at our discretion.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service. That means no scraping or bulk copying of our content, maps or data. No attempts to get around Pro access. No interfering with the site’s security or performance. No using it for anything unlawful.
Our content
The Fishing CT name, logo, design, maps and original content belong to Fishing Northeast LLC or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial fishing. Any other use needs our permission.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fishing Northeast LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, The Fishing CT or any third-party content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll change the date above, and continuing to use the service means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
