πŸ“œFishing rules here

  • Intermittent sections from Route 74 to Hop River.
  • Please note the following: The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection continues to work toward restoring unencumbered fishing access to the Skungamaug River in the vicinity of Woodbridge Road in Coventry. Until such time, DEEP has temporarily suspended public use of an existing easement located at 80 Woodbridge Road. Stocking the waters of the Skungamaug River downstream of the Woodbridge Road bridge has also been suspended until public use is restored. Use of the easement for purposes of fisheries research and management actions by DEEP staff will continue. We encourage patience on the part of the fishing public while this matter is resolved and access for fishing restored. For alternate fishing locations on the Skungamaug and other nearby streams, please visit Trout Stocking Maps, which provides links to the Interactive Trout Stocking Map and PDF maps of stocked rivers/streams. Specific alternate locations that we recommend are:
  • Skungamaug River at South Road in Coventry. Creaser Park is located there and has good access, plus a trail system.
  • Skungamaug River at Rt. 44 in Coventry behind the Glass Museum is another good location.
  • Hop River at Long Hill Rd. in Andover is town property.
  • Hop River at Bunker Hill Road in Andover.
  • Hop River along Airline Trail in Andover off of Parker Bridge Road.

CT Inland (or All Waters) fishing license required, 16+. Trout & Salmon Stamp needed (16+) if you keep trout or salmon.

Always confirm current rules with CT DEEP.
